November 5, 2016 –

On the evening of Saturday, December 17th from 5-7 pm at HIPICO Santa Fe, NMCTR will present as a raffle item the exquisite sculptural work of the renowned western artist, Veryl Goodnight.

This beautiful work of art entitled “Untamed” was completed in 2015 and depicts a young and wild bachelor stallion. The sculpture measures 18″ high, 20″ long and 9″ wide and is Number 1 of 25 castings. Veryl Goodnight’s body of work includes many pieces that both depict and chronicle the history of the American West. Her seven-ton monument to freedom, “The Day the Wall Came Down”, is on permanent display in the George Bush Library.

Veryl’s other works are part of permanent collections in museums and institutions throughout the U.S. and abroad. Recently, Veryl has received the honor of being inducted into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame, where she will take her place among the 200 or so other inductees since it’s founding. Joining this distinguished cast of women who mostly herald from ranching heritage, is yet another strong testament to her extraordinary success in capturing the spirit of the American West in her art.

So please join us for this important evening to help us celebrate another wonderful year of therapeutic riding at NMCTR. Your participation in this event and others throughout the year helps us to care for our remarkable equine friends and assures that we maintain a quality program for our community of riders. While attendance is not necessary to win, we invite you to join in a variety of festivities that will be presented throughout the evening.

The raffle will be preceded by food, music, and fun, including a Christmas Woolies Show and a Horse Holiday Costume Event hosted by HIPICO, beginning at 2 p.m. The NMCTR RAFFLE DRAWING and live auction will take place between 5 and 7 p.m. So come early, stay late… Either way, SAVE THE DATE! Help the New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding keep changing lives, one stride at a time!
