«Return to News ListingExciting Night for NMCTR at 100 Women Who Care!

December 11, 2017 –

On November 1, 2017, several NMCTR volunteers and supporters attended the fourth annual meeting of 100 Women Who Care Santa Fe. We were joined by members of other local nonprofits serving Santa Fe residents, who cast their votes for worthy causes and gave away thousands of dollars in record time. At each meeting of 100 Women Who Care, four nights per year, those in attendance throw the name of their nonprofit into a hat to get a chance at being a recipient of grant monies raised.  Once all the entries are in, there is a random drawing and three names are chosen from the hat. Those 3 organizations are each given 5 minutes to tell the audience a little about their organization and answer a few questions. All the attendees then cast a vote their top pick of the groups presented. Our program director, Ashley Armijo, used her presentation time to describe the benefits of equine therapy, who we serve, and how folks can help NMCTR. When the final votes were cast, NMCTR was awarded 2nd place, and we collected $4050 for our program!
