April 17, 2024 –

Executive Director’s Message
Can you believe we are already in April? April is a special month as it is now Autism Acceptance Month. In years past, April was known as Autism Awareness Month but has transitioned to Autism Acceptance Month. The change from awareness to acceptance signifies the importance of accepting people for who they are. While awareness is extremely important, acceptance is paramount as it strengthens inclusivity in our schools, workplaces, and communities. Autism Acceptance Month isn’t just about celebrating differences; it’s a time for us to appreciate and encourage the strengths of those with autism.

Join me in helping the world foster this transition and create a world where everyone feels accepted and valued.

Sincerely,
Ashley Fischer
NMCTR Executive Director
